Cleveland Residence
Cleveland Residence is a 1,980-square-foot furnishing and light construction project in downtown Los Angeles, designed for day-to-day living and a client who loves hosting.
Our client, a young professional with a bold, modern style, wanted to turn her home’s builder-grade interior into something that felt both comfortable for everyday use and inviting enough for entertaining.
We started by replacing the bright white walls with a palette of taupes, creams, and browns. In the living room, a textured wallcovering adds softness and dimension, while the primary bedroom now features chocolate-toned and textile-covered accent walls that extend the home’s color story.
Since the client frequently hosts friends and family, the main living areas were designed with flexibility in mind. A sculptural fireplace and custom media wall help define the space, while new bar stools and a refined dining setup make it easy to gather and unwind.
Nearly every upholstered piece, including the sofa, chairs, and stools, was customized in highly durable fabrics. Even the light-toned rug was selected with durability in mind, featuring materials that resist moisture and spills.
Layered details, such as velvet-and-gold stools, burl wood accents, and brushed gold hardware, add richness and texture. Sculptural lighting softens the tone, striking a balance between glam and grounded.
While most furnishings were sourced through us, the client brought a few favorites into the mix—including a pair of bold pink accent chairs. We designed around them to ensure the final space felt personal, cohesive, and distinctly hers.
